Obstacle of Affliction Growing up in a rural community then living in urban settings as an adult, this album awakens something long forgotten. And that is the allure of the inherited mystery of "the woods".
For me it also answers the question; what would black metal be like without distortion.....but when distortion does kick in...Wow. Favorite track: Allumhammochwen- The Crossing.

Matt A More good Appalachian metal here. These guys have some really beautiful Opeth-esque passages, but retain an almost punk rock vibe at times too; it's an interesting mix, and well done. The Native American themes are really cool; this is an under-explored culture in metal. Hard to believe this seems to be a sort of "outtakes" album; it's fully realized.
